NWA 7465 Eucrite 1.19g Fine Grained Lunar-Like Fusion Crusted Endcut
Item for auction is a new achondrite that was purchased from Moroccan dealers in July 2012, with 487g of fresh fusion crusted stones acquired. The meteorite exhibits a brecciated fine grained matrix covered by an exquisitely fresh fusion crust. The stones were cut and prepared by Montana Meteorite Laboratory and Dr Tony Irving completed the analyses. Very fresh monomict breccia composed of closely-packed fine-grained basaltic eucrite clasts. This specimen is relatively well-annealed, and contains discrete grains of orthopyroxene (Fs58.6-61.3Wo5.1-1.7; FeO/MnO = 34-35) and clinopyroxene (Fs25.3-25.7Wo44.0-44.2; FeO/MnO = 33-34), with anorthitic plagioclase, ilmenite, Ti-rich chromite and troilite. Here's your chance to obtain a very intriguing achondrite that masquerades as a lunar breccia.
