Item for auction is an 9.24g slice of NWA 6954 L3.7 chondrite. A type sample was analyzed by Tony Irving of University of Washington, and classified as an L3.7 ordinary chondrite with a shock stage of S2 and weathering grade of W1/2. The meteorite features well-formed, medium-sized chondrules. Olivine (Fa0.7-39.3; Cr2O3 in ferroan examples is 0.02-0.09 wt.%, mean 0.03 wt.%, s.d. 0.03 wt.%, N =8), orthopyroxene (Fs2.1-24.7Wo0.3-1.3), clinopyroxene (Fs17.5Wo27.1; Fs7.3Wo45.1), sodic plagioclase, altered kamacite, chromite, troilite and taenite.
