Item for auction is an 2.92g full slice of NWA 6925 unequilibrated chondrite.
Its classified as a very rare L3.15 ordinary chondrite with a shock stage of S1 and weathering grade of W2. Fairly large, well formed and relatively closely packed chondrules in a matrix containing very ferroan silicates and moderate amounts of altered metal. A single grain of Al-Ti-diopside (Fs0.8Wo56.9; Al2O3 19.2 wt.%, TiO2 1.5 wt.%, FeO/MnO = 67) may be an exotic component related to CAI. Olivine (Fa1.5-92.1; Cr2O3 in ferroan examples is 0.02-0.39 wt.%, mean 0.20 wt.%, s.d. 0.12 wt.%, N = 8), orthopyroxene (Fs5.1Wo0.3, Fs16.3Wo3.0), clinopyroxene (Fs8.6Wo45.4, with accessory altered kamacite, troilite and taenite. This is an interesting meteorite with many multicolored round and irregular shaped chondrules set in a light grayish-tan matrix. The meteorite measures 24 x 14 x 2mm in size and comes in a quality labeled display case.
