Official NWA 1110 Olivine Phyric Martian Meteorite 38mg
5.5mm X 2.5mm X 2mm!
38 milligram fragment from NWA 1110, an Olivine-Phyric Martian Shergottite meteorite paired with NWA 1068 found 2002 in the Sahara Desert. These fragments were studied independently at the University of Washington at the same time as the French who announced the discovery first. The University of Washington was unaware the French had already been studying this new Martian find until they announced it shortly before NWA 1110 so the names are synonymous. The French acquired mass weighs 654 grams and NWA 1110, mainly in individual fragments, weighs 118 grams. Since then a few more pairings have been found taking the Total Known Weight up to about 1-kilogram. Every piece of this official material was examined by a competent scientist so you can 100% sure of what you are getting. We have not seen much of this rare meteorite on the market lately so the supply appears to be dwindling. This specimen comes with an identification card from The Hupé Collection.
